Spot welding

Spot welding is a welding procedure at which electrical current is passed through a special copper alloy. Spot welding is done with the help of wearing parts like spot welding electrodes and welding wheels. These copper spare parts are made out of special copper alloys like CuCrZr, CuCoBe or CuCoNiBe.

Examples of copper spare parts used in spot welding operations :

  • spot welding electrodes
  • welding wheels
  • electrode holder and welding gun arms
  • laminated shunts, air and water cooled current cables

Spot welding is a method which is used in many industries like the automotive, producers of radiators for central house heating, stainless steel sinks and steel fuel tanks. Spot welding is finally also used for the production of steel drums for the oil and packaging industry.
